Another Hand Font - free font download


This one took my heart today as it is so darn charming....It is called Another Hand Font and can be found several places free online for download including this site

Enjoy!! I plan on using it for my "TO DO" lists and my home printed "You Called?" memo pad papers printed on the backsides of scrap 8.5x11 sheets.

OK ok I confess I am frugal and I recycle. I blame it on growing up in the 60's and 70's in Oregon. What can I say? It's a GOOD thing....You see I save my missprinted full sheets of paper and turn them over and print my own little notepapers and scratch papers for phone messages. In order to cuten the scrap paper pieces up a bit, I add wording at the top in a cute font. Then I print 4 on a sheet and cut the 8.5x11 in four equal pieces. I end up with a virtually free stack of TO DO list papers or Phone memo papers. I stack them in a little basket on my desk and poof! Always paper nearby when I need to jot something down.

Won't this font be cute for that? I also have taken a mental note of which ink cartridges I have TONS of...and I will print out in those colors!! Why is it that out of a HP multi pack I always have turquoise and pink cartridges left over??? I will post pics here when I get this project all done so you can see....

Ok here is the step by step:

1. print your wording on the good side of a 8.5x11 sheet of scrap paper. this one says "You Called???) in the Another Hand Font given above.
2. Print in multiples and cut these in half the long way at 4.25 wide.
3. Now cut them again the other direction at 5.5 inches.

You now have a stack of 4.25x5.5 scratch papers with a cute header on them. I did several differnt headers with my excess turquoise ink and pink ink cartridges. Some I will give to my dd for her desk at college. You can even tell in the pic below that these are truly scratch paper because you can see the shadow of the other printing . RECYCLE!

Rock, great idea! I've been printing on the back of my sheets for a long time. It works especially well for my 'test' computer journaling for sb pages. I've even brought home stacks of paper from the office just for practice journaling.

Here you see a  gift I just finished this morning for my daughter. It is a spiral bargello style quilted tree skirt. I sewed on it all Saturday and Sunday this weekend and just had the ties to sew on this morning. It's an early Christmas gift kind of like the one I made for my son and his wife a few weeks ago .  T his spiral design my daughter chose also uses a 10 degree wedge ruler but is about 1/3 more time consuming than the randomly placed 5 inch charm square wedge style because you have to spend more time getting the strip formation right.  There was a SULKY brand online tut o rial and pattern for a single color repeat but I liked the slower color change better seen in the t wo photos below .
