It's February!!

February is EMBELLISHMENT MONTH over on Scrapperschallenge and I have been resorting my metal embellishment box into a couple of great systems. One is the ARTBIN MEGATOTE we sell at our store --and I love that for traveling.

Also using the wonderful Beadalon embellishment storage caddy set . I so love embellishments like brads, charms, clips, buttons, ribbons, buckles, etc. Not only am I tidying up and clearing out a few things--I am having another giveaway this week!

Leave a comment --AFTER you sort your embellishments for 15 minutes. Come back and leave a comment on what you worked on. You could win a bundle of cool embellishments this week!
Don't forget to leave your email in the comment as well so I can contact you if you win!

Let's make our goals come true month by month. One day at a time! :D

Hi,
Im so exited I can actually find my embellies easier. I sorted by colors rather than size and it works great for me I lay out everything in a small box and I can see everything I have without leaving anything unseen. This took me over an hour to do but well worth it.

Happy scrapping christine

I have all my embellishments stored in a hanging jewlery organizer very similar to this example http://www.organize.com/80pochanjewo.html) There are several different sizes of pockets so it fits my every need. It does not take up to much space & it is very easy to see what I have at a glance. Though I may have to buy another one to keep up with my stash.

Hi
What a great challenge for me! I have so many embellishments!
I decided to use some bead caddies.
I sorted my embellishments by color so that when the need comes up I can just dump out the container and search for just the right one.
Thanks for the inspiration!

I have moved my metal embellishments in the plastic containers that you put floss in, similar to your beadalon. My buttons are now in color coded jars and I moved a spice orgainzer into my craft room to hold them - the kind that has the three levels of steps. At the moment I have the flowers in a large plastic container (recycled - it had nuts in it) and will probably leave them that way as I can see what is in there.

I worked on sorting through my silk flower/prima embellishments. I also worked on my paper scraps and set up a simple hanging file system for those.
Thanks for the inspiration and challenge!
I'm pulling excess eyelets and brads for a leftover swap on scrapaholics

I have purchased several sets of mixed metal embellies in themes (Valentines, Halloween, Christmas, etc). While this is all fine & dandy, I was finding I was using more of the Valentines & Halloween colors for my Christmas layouts so the themes they were purchased organized in were actually defeating the purpose. This morning, I came to the conclusion that I wasn't accomplishing anything under those circumstances and needed a new system (for everything). I've not gotten everything completed,(ribbon is still together, punches together, etc), but my paper & "metal things" are all sorted according to color...good thing I did it, 2 hours later my Aunt (who I have not seen in years) called me to come scrap in the morning!!! :)

I have alot of "loose" ribbons and I found a "laundry" basket with a lid, I just store my ribbons in the basket and pull some of each ribbon thru the holes on the basket and it sits on the shelf in front of me, so colorful

It took more than 15 minutes, but my embellishment tote is now back in order! One of the kids didn't know it was opened and it ended up upside down, open and the contents all over the place. They kind of piled things back inside (pet hair and all). However, it is all cleaned out and ready to go now. But for some reason there is a big empty spot!! Guess I used more than I had realized (a very good thing). Scraprageous@gmail.com

I finally put all of my embellies in hardware drawers (like nuts and bolts) because I was tired of looking thru jars, baggies, baskets etc. I don't have a huge collection of them and the two drawer sets holds all my embellishments and chipboard stuff.

Thanks for the challenge Rock. I don't think I've sorted this stuff in about 6 years. I haven't used it either so why am I keeping it? Time to get rid of some of these things I don't use so I can find the ones I want. Joan runkejamy@frontier.com

My buttons are in twp 28 compartment containers. one is regular buttons sorted by color, the other is novelty buttons sorted by theme. My brads and eyeletts (smaller containers) are sorted the same way. Flowers are in a big jar unsorted, but they sure look pretty.
I need more divided containers.
Thank you for this challenge.

I re-organized all my embellishments by color last year and I love it. I used the Ezy lock caddies to sort by color and type.

I have lots of embellishments but now I can find stuff to match my pages without having to search several different drawers since I always look at color first.

Please help---this is off topic but what page protectors do you use to pack up your page kits? I can't seem to fit 2 pc of cardstock let alone patterned paper and photos....
Thanks so much!

I must say that I simply adore your blog background!

This is perfect timing for me, as I am re-organizing my craft room now. I am moving towards a color system for my embellies - grouping various types of embellies together, by color, instead of type. Using this color system, I now know that my clear recycled baby food jar with the Blue Lid, will contain blue clips, buttons, charms, etc. Ribbons are sorted by color, too, but not in same area. I think this will work well for me, as I am very color focused. :) Thanks for the challenge!

WHY IS ORGANIZING SOOOO DIFFICULT -??? We just relocated and my previous scrap-room was sooo put together. After things were packed and made to fit in boxes, they were un-organized and are screaming for some help !! Or I could just give up sleep, and scrap til 2014 when I finally run out of embellishments! ...lol
