Our third unit this month will be for March. You can choose from Smiles, St Patrick, or Celtic Irish love themes or completely do WHATEVER THEME suits your next group of photos. Again Use what you have to make the INTRO pages and any 4x6 accent or journaling cards that go in your slip in sleeves. Use stickers, premade items and try to use some stash items. Try to use what you have instead of doing everything just like you might see it here. Be creative and innovative and do your pages YOUR way. These freebies and ideas are just in case you get stuck or don’t have access to accents/shopping in time to get your pages underway. We want you to keep rolling along here.

If you don't need this theme, skip the themed artwork and make the same sketch into another theme that you DO plan to use for the pages in your book. Either way, you have 2 to 3 days to make your INTRO pages for March and get the rest of your pics for the march unit into slip in sleeves or pages to follow that INTRO set.

Basic MARCH sketch: Use up to 4 photos on this one page! This sketch can be used for ANY theme not just St Pats or a Smile page. Need more than one page or have more horizontal photos? Rotate it one turn to the right and it will still coordinate! (Sketch by K. Aho)

See this Sample! Here is a page using roughly the same scheme! Thanks to
we can see how this sketch can look as a SMILE page.

Don't feel you have to have all this same stuff. IMPROVISE using papers and accents you have on hand.

Need some accents or artwork?

For the smile page use your choice of fibers, yarns or ribbons as a top border
Clip art shamrocks of various sizes

Clip art Celtic accents

Photo corners or frame parts- right click to save and resize this clip. Add foam tape or pop dots underneath for dimension.

Just need a 4x6?
If you just need a 4x6 title card idea, use this format for the 4x6 slip in sleeve. I am not great at sketching these in Paint but hey I am trying! LOL Use any color cardstock for the mats that you prefer. Picture drawn on white so you can see and read it better. Rough dark lines indicate torn paper. Use varied sizes of stickers for the wording in the title for a fresh look. Substitute another title and heart stickers for the LOVE theme card.

doing the happy dance!

I don't often buy tools (usually just paper and accents for the pages I am doing) but with the new releases of Coluzzle, I decided to get a few that meet my $1 per use rule. These terrific babies came in the mail today off an ebay with Utesgirl. The above pics ae pretty much in scale except for the file folders are huge--twice the size of the others for the largest ones which is COOL. I can't wait to open and use them on new pages! I can see these being very versatile and I couldn't wait to share my excitement! :) :) :)

UNIT BY UNIT: theme order preview

This should help in planning and pulling accents for your INTRO sets as
well as placing photos in order for the purposes of our challenge.
Remember this roughly seasonal order is just the order I am presenting
these materials to you. You can certainly rearrange your Intro pages
(especially the ones with themes like smiles, dress up, travel and
friends) in any order you like later on if you have a binder style
album that opens and closes easily.

If you are working on an album like a 2-up, 3-up or album, you probably
can't take pages out and rearrange them much, So plan ahead what order
you want all your photos. These kinds of albums may not allow normal
scrapbook INTRO pages at all. (Unless they are post bound and you make
skinny pages with no protectors. ) For these 2-up and 3-up albums, it is
easier to just leave one photo square or the title at the beginning of
the unit section and one photo space or the journaling box shortly after
it.

Here is the order I will be sharing links and titles and art:

January -New Year or baby

February-winter snowmen or sweethearts

March -smiles or st patrick's/celtic

April rain and the great outdoors

May-flowers and motherhood

June- summer sun or water fun

July- Independence Day/July 4th and travel

August -grilling/family times/picnic and music

Sept -back to school and handyman

October -fall or Halloween dress up

November -Thanksgiving or friends

December -Christmas or any holidays

Lets pull those accents and premade titles and items all together and
get ready for this challenge!
