October Unit By Unit ideas and sketch by K. Aho (Rockester)

Here is a pic of the freebie download for the October Unit Challenge. I used part of the Shabby Princess HOLIDAY SAMPLER set for this layout.

Here comes our OCTOBER unit. This SHABBY PRINCESS digital art HOLIDAY SAMPLER set will be great for such a variety of photo pages! NOTE: for Nov, use the same sketch with the Thanksgiving art to create an entirely different page set!

Here is the sketch. (K. Aho)

And here is the Halloween page sample.

Don't feel you have to have all this same stuff. IMPROVISE using papers and accents you have on hand. Not comfortable with digital? Don't get bogged down. Use real papers and accents in a simular way. Just do the page!
Need some accents or artwork?

To get the great artwork featured here, you will need to go to the SHABBY PRINCESS website and download the set SHABBBY HOLIDAY SAMPLER Make a mental note of where you saved it to in your computer folders. It will be in ZIPPED format and you will need to unzip it. Use free trial versions of WINZIP or another program to do this. Instructions on unzipping files is found here.

Need a title?
Create your own October event layout pages using the downloaded premade Trick or Treat wording or a previous apphabet set from any other download from SHABBY PRINCESS. Or do your own thing with rub ons or sticker letters.
Need other titles? Scrapbook.com has a nice list for you here. You can create your title on a 4x6 card too. Just place your own chosen title wording in the format shown on the 4x6 card idea sketch below.

Just need a 4x6?
If you just need a 4x6 title card idea, use this format for the 4x6 slip in sleeve. Your choice of wording of course! See the links above for titles. Sketch by K. Aho.

Need a Journaling box?
Want a quick-to-print option? Check out all the FREE recipe cards online (that don't say recipe on them!) They are usually 3x5 which is perfect for matting on a 4x6 cardstock piece, they have the lines fro writing already printed on them, and they usually have wonderful clip art already sized and inserted! Here is one of my favorite spots for freebie 3x5 recipe cards for journaling boxes! Don't overlook the longer printable shopping lists and labels for the same purposes!

TIPS: Use what you have. Don't get bogged down. Try not to use what you see here unless you are stuck for ideas and supplies. Don't get stuck in details. If going digital is too hard, use what else you have! Do a great job but don't procrastinate over tiny decisions. We want to get September and the rest of your fall pics all finished up as soon as we can!
Start sorting!! Start scrapping!!

A Special thanks to Kristie of Shabby Princess at
http://www.shabbyprincess.com
for agreeing to share her digital freebie artworks with us. They are truly beautiful. Thanks Kristie! We can scrap even more photos into our albums with these beautiful accompaniments. One more UNIT left: Nov/December/Christmas! Coming Sept 4th.
