More sketches and Fun!
Hey, Hey, Hey~!!
I finally have a few minutes to upload here on the blog. Wanna see some of my newer work from the last few weeks? Sorry for any glare on the pics. :) As always I love lumpy details, pattern papers and fiber. I am using my paper stash down and my accent supply as well. I have used some photos more than once here because we are making doubles for my daughter's bf.
Click to enlarge any photo. Once again, I have placed the inspiring pic or sketch below the photo to show you the variety you can achieve with simple FREE sketches. The small inspiration pics come from sites like Scrapjazz gallery, Scrapbook.com gallery, Scrapbook.com sketches and the blank sketches are from designers like Becky Higgins , PageMaps, and my own little mind. LOL Be sure to check out Becky Fleck's new PageMaps book with 128 NEW Pagemaps.... I just bought it and I love the cards in the back which work so well in my PAGE KITS!! Love that.
Above we have a best friends snowman LET IT SNOW layout. Making a two page layout is easy from sketches. Just pick a couple of sketches that have similar bordering or similar repeating shapes. In the above example I loved the vertical striping in both sketches.
You may not be able to read this one unless you enlarge it but it says BE AN ORIGINAL
My green paper swirl is larger than the example but I loved how it works here. Also on my page is some of the new Tim Holtz Grungeboard in swirly vine style. Now THAT'S original. It's like chipboard in depth but is also flexible and takes up my choice of ink coloring like a sponge.
This four page layout set (above) is about my son's school's Winter Carnival. I used black and white winter paper, his school colors and a journaling block on this set. The best part is that I was able to get 17 photos on this 4 page set! Go me!
Back to March's focus color of using up my greens on the above layout. My daughter added the journaling since this page is for her book. This layout is an example of wide stripe/skinny stripe/accent on skinny stripe--and poof! I was done. Mat only one focal photo.
This one looks a little blurry (above) but here I was able to use some of my leftover valentine papers, red scraps, and vellum titles. I love monochromatic color schemes.
With the pic/sketch that inspired it.
Here is the full 2 page layout of "I love you BECAUSE". It includes paper strips printed on the computer telling 5 reasons why they each love each other in their own words. I bulleted each one with a colorful button and added more buttons all around the heart too. Color coding her reasons in pink and his in gray make it clear who said what. Finish it all off with some Basic Grey paper and some Daisy D flowers!!
Blue-green papers and a fantastic inspiration for "I HEART U". I made two identical of this page--one for my son and one for my daughter. I don't usually bother making doubles because we have so many pages completed at our house but this was one I wanted them both to have.
Same photo of me as the layout above--but used on a local store contest entry about why I scrapbook.
Close up detail of the perfect 3-D Jolee's jumbo camera accent.
Well that is it for this week. :) I hope this helps you see how sketches, page kits, and the focus color of the month can help YOU get more done. Stay tuned for more ideas in a few weeks!
