WHEW!

Image
Sooo much going on for us and I am in the thick of things. In a good way. Two weeks ago we had our daughter home for the very end of her spring break. Last weekend I went to Brookfield Milwaukee to get Copic certification--which I LOVE. I will be coloring more soon and sharing soon. And this week I have been to the big city to do some bargain scrapbook shopping as well as get some supplies for bridal shower favors, wedding favors, and help a friend find her dream stamp cabinet at IKEA. Today I am buckling down here at home and getting a new dining table into the dining room and a new worktable in place downstairs. Tomorrow we are going to a pro hockey game with our daughter back up in the big city. :D Hectic? yep. a little bit. But it will all come together. I am working on all the handmade wedding invites again this week and weekend. I will post things as I can so you can see all the creativity popping around here like pop rocks! Like the commercial says, zoom, zoom, zoom!

March is Paper Storage month!

It's March and it's time for PAPER! Yep it's time to organize any paper sheets that you have in the stash. Big or small, it's time to take care of your sheets, packages, and slabs! I recommend taking apart all your non-themed slabs and packages. WHY? WHY keep those papers for months or years when I don't care for them--just because I didn't notice? HUH? Take care of the duds right way. DONATE! The second reason I take apart my paper slabs is that I want to have the freedom to use them in combination with OTHER BRANDS. I want to be able to sort by color family and then use those papers that go together for individual projects based on what goes well together BEYOND what the designers for that company pre-decided for me. I can still use the papers together if I choose. But thi...

When there is a Garage Sale on the Horizon....

Image
When there is a crafters garage sale on the horizon, you know I will be participating! Our local scrapbook store is hosting one this coming weekend. I love this! First it is a marvelous reason to be decluttering my studio. I try to do this at least once a year anyway and a garage sale is a nice way to recoup some of my investment on the 'duds' in my stash. They aren't REALLY duds but they are no longer to my taste and style. I have gathered up and priced a whole large laundry basket so far just today. I plan to do more tomorrow. It really is eye opening to go through each basket, bin and shelf! There are a few things here I swear I got rid of already and others I am surprised I have not used up! What a pleasure it is to get rid of a container, bag or tub and empty it to either the SALE pile or to it's rightful place of honor in the stash that is being kept. I have more room in my studio than I thought I did! And joy of joys, I found some nice white cardstock and match...
